Aerial Hoop Beginner
Our aim in a Beginner Hoop class is to work through the level 1 syllabus introducing students to basic skills, such as strength, flexibility, conditioning, through transitions of moves and floor work.
The fitness benefits of Aerial Hoop are that they help students to build strength, especially upper body and core strength. Students will also learn to combine moves whilst learning new moves making choreography or routines.
Students will also learn new transitions and floor work linking moves that help create smooth and fluid sequences. Transitions can help students change direction in a routine, they can provide rest points in choreography.
This class is designed for the students who are new to Aerial Hoop and can be assured that there will be other beginner students in the same class. Students will be taught through Level 1 of the Aerial Lounges Beginners Hoop syllabus. Once 80% of the syllabus is complete, students will be asked to join Intermediate Hoop. This is to keep this session suited to Beginners and keep students progressing through the next level 2 Intermediate Hoop syllabus.
There will only be at a maximum of 2-3 students to one Hoop with a maximum of 12 students per instructor.
Aerial Hoop Intermediate
Our aim in an Intermediate Hoop class is to work students through the level 2 syllabus focusing on developing the basic skills learnt at the Beginner level, while adding the next block of inverted higher moves and lifting into the hoop.
Students will learn new moves and learn how to combine moves together. Linking combinations are fantastic, they allow students to progress. Students increase stamina, both in strength endurance and cardiovascular fitness, students learn how different moves link together and transition into each other in different ways. They also help track students’ progress stopping students from moving onto an advanced level until they are physically and mentally prepared to do so.
Intermediate combinations are so expansive, they can provide a huge amount of material to learn. sequencing through combinations is important part of your Intermediate Hoop learning.
This class is designed for the student who has completed 80% of the level 1 syllabus as prior knowledge of moves will be required. As Intermediate moves generally have fewer points of contact with the Hoop. They tend to be lifted, with no momentum and have complex combinations of beginners moves, student will require a greater degree of strength, flexibility and conditioning.
Students will be taught through Level 2 of the Aerial Lounges Intermediate Hoop syllabus. Once 80% of the syllabus is complete, students will be asked to join Advanced Hoop class. This is to keep this session suited to Intermediate level students, to keep progressing through the next level 3 Advanced Hoop syllabus. Students can be assured that there will be other Intermediate students in the same class.
There will only be at a maximum of 2-3 students to one Hoop with a maximum of 12 students per instructor.
The Aerial Hoop is an extremely dynamic apparatus, being a circular steel ring that provides the perfect frame for your acrobatic moves. It provides an excellent platform for an endless combination of transitions and fluid movements, especially when spinning.
Whilst it may seem like a daunting apparatus, we stand by our key tenets of making it as accessible to every aspiring aerialist at each stage of their burgeoning career. Rest assured that each class will have a ratio of two people per hoop, providing sufficient time for you perfect your moves.
The Aerial Hoop requires a skilful balance of strength, stamina and flexibility, something which you will progressively work on during the class. As with any aerial skill, the core muscles are essential in being able to execute moves with confidence. Moreover, the Aerial Hoop is particularly exceptional in honing on upper body muscle groups, improving your range of motion and active flexibility.
